A Pouffe!

I went up to the city with Lucy on Friday to buy some more material for the bits and pieces I've been doing for her sitting room. I'll take some photos of the window seat and curtain but every time I go round I forget my camera. This is howI spent Sunday. She asked me to cover a pouffe for her and this is how it came out. I'm pretty pleased with it. Before it had a very frilly floral cover. I should have taken a before and after photo, but wasn't that organised.
I did this yesterday as Lucy has her elderly mum-in-law coming to stay today and wanted it for her to put her feet on.

We had a fun day out at the shops, looking at fabric, trying on clothes, lunch was very nice - great homemade quiche and salad with a bread roll in a boulangerie/café , with an expresso to finish off. I have to say I was very good and only window shopped.

It's been a lovely day here today warm, sun shining, birds singing, daffodils out in flower - all very springlike. By the way we're forecast snow next week apparently, so I won't put my winter woollies away just yet. I've hung the washing on the line and it's dried, how satisfying is that. I really do need to get out more, getting excited because the washing has dried outside - I don't know! I've just baked a cake ready for when Holly and Olly get home from school, it was going to be chocolate but turned into lemon, fancied a change.

Right, I'm off to get the washing in.
Take care.

I totally agree with you about the washing on the line - I've been loving it for the last few days too. The pouffe is great. A friend has just given me three very dull things she called small shelves, but I think they have potential as storage/seating. I may have a go at doing them up a bit like your pouffe, if I feel brave enough...

Lovely pouffe!

Just stopped by to say thank you so much for the lovely award today! Such a nice surprise...I will forward it on later in the week, when I have had a chance to think of my list.

I have had the washing out today too ~ I think only the second time this year!

Oh that's gorgeous (I wouldn't let anyone put their feet on it if it were mine!!!)
I love the fabric - my bedroom curtains and bedside lampshades are a red/white ticking stripe - they always look so smart and fresh.

Well done for window shopping, I always find when I’m window shopping I see more things I like.
You are not the only sad one I got excited about getting all my dry washing in, just don’t tell anyone! ;0)

Hi again Nicky

You need to go on http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php to make a mosaic picture. You have to upload pictures onto flickr first but it's fairly straightforward :)

Hi there again! In answer to your question, Son 2 in CM2 gets Wednesdays off this year, and Son 1 in 6ieme is off on Wednesday afternoons. We fill the time with a piano lesson, a visit to the kine for the little one (minor scoliose), and dog walking! Oh, and homework, unfortunately. Of course, tomorrow is a strike day and the primary school is shut, while Son 1 only has a PE lesson (I'm afraid he's not going in for that - he's coming to work with me instead!) So there's a bit of a holiday feel this evening.

Hello!!
In response to the Lush cleanser, you can get it online at Lush.com it's with the cleansers and is about £5 i think. It's called herbalism. It does take a little while to get used to it. You take a peasized amount mix it in your palm with some water and scrub it over your face and then rinse off. I bought a little pot for mine as it only comes wrapped in paper. I thinkt it took about a week before i started to notice a difference. I also splash my face with cold water at the end to close my pores!! It lasts quite a while and i always keep it abit longer than the use by date. I don't use anything else anymore, no toner and i rarely use moisturiser as that seemed to make my face oiler. Hope that helps x

Hi Nicky

I seem to of missed your last few posts (not sure how).
Isn't it lovely to be able to hang your washing on the line. Unfortunately, we only have a front garden and live on a main road so I have to remember not to hang my smalls out lol!
Lovely pouffe!
Have a good weekend!
Take care

Hi Nicky
Me again,I meant to ask you, how long have you lived in France and which part of France do you live in? I used to live in France and did most of my schooling there. My parents still live there and my sister who now lives on IOW is about to move back to France, this time with her 3 children. I am very happy living in the West Country but am always glad to go back to France for breaks and holidays. I miss the way of shopping for food out there, the markets especially!
A converted barn sound beautiful, you sound happy there.
Have a great weekend
